Another good performance from the girls today- definitely the best team for 3 of the 4 quarters!
With illness hitting the squad we were running with only 1 sub but everyone just kept working so hard!
In a closely contested first quarter both sides had some half chances, but it remained 0-0.
Tianna broke the deadlock with a strike from distance in the second quarter, where it remained 1-0 at half time.
We then came out all guns blazing in the 3rd, with goals from Sienna, Jessie and Savannah giving us a 4-0 lead going into the final quarter.
Luton Celtic came out flying in the 4th and got themselves a goal quickly but we weather the storm and the score remained 4-1.
Player of the match was given to Esther by our opponents who worked hard all game and got a couple of great assists!
Isabella got coaches player for her commanding defensive performance, bringing some surging forward runs to the match also.
The rest of the girls all played well too, with Marcelina making some solid saves and working hard when on pitch, Esme battling hard despite carrying a cough, Sienna full of energy, with a barnstorming run and cross leading to one of our goals. Tianna bossing the midfield – strong in the tackle, but also strong going forward also grabbing a goal! Savannah notching a great strikers finish as well as making some crucial saves in the 4th and Jessie closing down from the front and scoring a clinical first time finish!
Great game all round with fantastic support!
Thanks to Coach Simon for the match report
