Pumas give a determined performance to take on Dunstable

One of the performances of the season from Pumas today. In challenging conditions, the girls brought their slick passing game and usual determination for a tricky tie.

They creating a number of opportunities before an own goal opened the scoring, following a dangerous cross from Bella. Pumas added a second, courtesy of a smart finish from Grace after another arching Bella cross. A neat first-time finish from Allegra into the bottom corner and a sublime left foot volley from Blythe from a corner saw the girls finish strongly.

Pumas were dominant in the second half, playing with hunger. The passing and control throughout the team was first class, keeping the ball for long periods, creating numerous chances and achieving a commanding win. A penalty in the top bins (apparently that’s how the kids say it) from Emily, a rocket from Belle which I’m told is still travelling en route to Sweden, a deserved goal from Bella and a hatrick from Blythe completing the scoring.

Bella put in a memorable George Best performance (who coincidentally played for Dunstable) earning both Coaches and Parent’s player. A really good performance all round from 1 to 11 and two fantastic saves from Maddie in the second half to ensure there were no nervy moments.
